Sometime in 2021, chess had a resurgence in Brevard County. Coffee shops and kava bars became the home to many casual chess games and tournaments. Many of the same faces continued to show up week after week to these chess events, so was formed the Brevard Chess Club!

Our aim is to provide the casual and competitive chess players of Brevard County multiple weekly events at different venues for them to play chess and have a good time while doing it! Make no mistake, our events are U.S. Chess Federation rated for those who seek a competitive edge, but we are not a super-serious group that plays in total silence. We like to have some fun, so we'll oftentimes have some music in the background and we'll play at social atmospheres like those kava bars and coffee shops we originated from.
